On October 5, 2012, Saturn moves into Scorpio, the sign of transformation, death, sex and taxes (all the sure things in life!). Scorpio is also associated with getting to the bottom of things, digging deep (including sewers), and eliminating those things which don't serve us. It's also masterful at finding the true motivations and agendas behind what's occurring. Saturn in Scorpio is a manager who is comfortable with power, suspicious of motivations, and determined to get to the bottom of what's happening. It's worth noting that Saturn is now moving into Pluto's sign (Pluto is the modern ruler of Scorpio), and Pluto is already in Saturn's sign of Capricorn. So this manager is in alignment with the guys in power, and vice-versa. They help each other to make necessary changes.
What this means for you is that it's time to "clean house."
This can physically include cleaning out your closets, drawers,
cupboards, bookshelves, garage, storage units, etc. However, there's a
deeper meaning to this cliché (as there always is with Scorpio!). Since
this is a time when you either transform or eliminate that
which no longer serves you, this may mean that you fire someone at
work, stop doing business with a vendor, cut ties
with organizations that you're no longer in resonance
with, or end relationships that no longer support you. You may
also transform a property or home, so it can either be lived in or sold
for a profit. Transforming structures is the order of the day.
At an even deeper level, this is a time when we may give up old beliefs or views of how the world works, which no longer support us. In some situations, we may find it necessary to take off our blinders and stop pretending things are fine when they're not. Spiritually, we may decide to move into new territory if our current beliefs aren't helpful to our growth. Everything gets examined deeply when Saturn is in Scorpio. Since Scorpio is a water sign, associated with our emotions, we may even examine and transform our emotional patterns.
Saturn has been in the sign of Libra for the past 2.5 years, since July 22, 2010. During that time it's been working on re-balancing relationships and various legal issues. Many relationships that were not balanced or weren't able to come into balance ended.
Saturn will remain in Scorpio until December 23, 2015. Then on June 14, 2015, Saturn retrogrades back into Scorpio for a little more clean-up. Saturn will leave Scorpio for the last time on September 17, 2015, when it then moves into Sagittarius.
During this cycle, you have plenty of time to work on transforming the structures of your life, business, or work. However, I recommend that you start cleaning out stuff (yes, those closets, drawers, cupboards, garage, basement and storage units) as much as possible before the end of this year. If you do this, even for an hour or two each week, you'll find that you'll get faster results than waiting until later, and your 2013 will take off much quicker. As we clear our clutter (the stuff we no longer need or want), our lives open up to new opportunities. If you're ready for something different, especially in 2013, start by cleaning out what you no longer want or need. And if you need some additional help with this, check out Peg Donahue's Paper Piles and Clutter release teleclass.
In other news, the cycle of Saturn sextile Pluto comes in range on November 14th. This cycle is also extremely helpful for transforming structures and processes, cleaning things out (even for environmental disasters) and also making management changes. This cycle peaks for the first time on December 26, 2012. It peaks a second time on March 8, 2013 and then a final time on September 20-21, 2013. It stays in range now through April 23, 2013. It comes back into range on August 19, 2013. If you have changes you want to make to structures, programs, laws, management methods or processes, these are good times to do that.
Saturn in Scorpio Consolidates These Industries:
Occasionally we also get a shortage in one or more of the industries that Saturn is consolidating. Whenever that occurs, the price of the item(s) increases. Typically though, the consolidating industries lower their prices, at least initially, in order to compete for business and determine who will survive in the consolidation.
The good news is that the housing and commercial property industries are now out of the doghouse! While Saturn was in Libra the last 2.5 years, it challenged both industries and they have both suffered. Now that both industries are getting support, (Saturn trines Cancer and sextiles Capricorn), they will stabilize and increase again. This is especially true for housing by July 2013, when Jupiter will enter the sign of Cancer (housing sign), bringing even more support to it. If you are thinking of buying a house or property, prices will now start going up slowly, so buy sooner, rather than later.
