Erin Sullivan

The master of Retrograde Planets, Erin Sullivan has been a consultant astrologer, author and teacher since the late 1960’s. She has been called “the astrologer's astrologer” and is one of the world's most eminent consulting, writing and lecturing astrologers. Her Classical Studies background and training in archetypal analytic psychology add a unique depth and breadth to her years of experience.

Erin has lectured worldwide and led workshops and symposia on many aspects of human development using mythology, psychology and the rich language of astrology. Her sometimes radical and outspoken nature on issues of ethics, honesty, human rights, women’s rightful empowerment, ecology and the healing of and preservation of our planet, Gaia, has had a positive effect on most of her clients and friends.

Erin’s fresh, non-elitist approach makes it easy for clients and students to understand astrology as a necessary adjunct to their other life tools.

Erin's contributions to astrology include not one but three groundbreaking works that are continued time-honored classics in the astrological tradition: Retrograde Planets, Saturn in Transit, and The Astrology of Family Dynamics. Her work on The Astrology of Midlife and Aging is a must have for anyone embarking on the journey of the midlife transition.

Compelled by Erin's view of the human condition, her original approach to counseling is sensitive, deep, and yet also practical and completely tailored to the chart being read. She sees the outer world as an active mirror of the inner self, and the horoscope as an ideal reflection of both. This is her area of mastery - the personal, one-to-one consultation.

You can be sure that when you get a reading with Erin, you are receiving attention from one of the most discerning and penetrating minds in the business. Erin considers the chart wholelistically, and counsels her clients to find right relationship to themselves and the world. Erin's clients leave a reading feeling completely witnessed, understood and rejeuvenated.

Erin is an activist thinker, and promotes ecology, women's issues, human rights and individual freedom. It is her defining belief. that all people have the right to be who they truly are, and that by improving the self even a small amount, we thereby improve the collective by that much.

Erin has received three awards from the Fraternity for Canadian Astrologers -- The Sun Award (1982) for co-founding the BC Astrological Society in 1972 and creating The Ecliptic Journal; The Venus International Award (1984) for international networking; and The Mars Award (1986) for achievement.

Erin was a founding member of the Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN), and founder of the Media Watch program and equal-time media project in the 1980s, which continues to keep professional astrologers informed today. She has been nominated twice for the prestigious Regulus Award, once for Community Service at the United Astrology Congress in 1989 and again, for Theory and Practice at UAC 1998.

Erin facilitates original retreat workshops for greater self awareness, and was the resident astrologer for the New Horizons Programs in the 1980s for the Cold Mountain Institute (now Hollyhock, on Cortes Island, BC.).
